when we saw this we just had to share! started in 1995 to enrich the lives of dogs and their owners, the dog scouts of america is a nonprofit started by lonnie olson.
much like the boy and girl scouts, the dog scouts of america holds weekend outings, retreats for instructors and even summer camps for pups.
in recognition of their efforts dogs receive merit badges.. there are over 60 of them including: therapy work, agility and backpacking! the dog scouts also help their communties through clean ups, dogs volunteer at nursing homes and local schools.
ruby has done her fair share of camping with scc!
